Dr. Yihua Cao is a Professor (Supervisor of Ph.D student) in the Department of Aircraft Engineering at Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 1982. After this he worked as a Technician from July 1982 to August 1984 at Chinese Helicopter Research and Development Institute. He received his M.E. and Ph.D degrees in Aircraft Engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China, in 1987 and in 1990, respectively. He worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from 1991 to 1992 at Nanjing University of Science and Technology. In 1995 he was selected as DAAD ( the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst-Germany Academic Exchange Service )-K.C. Wong Research Fellow. He studied from 1996 to 1997 at the Institute of Flight Mechanics of Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany.
From Oct 2003 to Nov 2003 he was a visiting professor of Russian Aerospace Agency. From July 2007 to Oct 2007 and in July and Aug of 2008 he worked in the Faculty of Engineering as a special visiting professor of Monash University, Australia. From July 2010 to Nov 2010, he was a senior visiting fellow of University of California at Davis, USA. His research interests include fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, fluid/solid coupling, aeroelasticity, flight dynamics and flight control.
He is the author of more than 100 scientific papers (for example, some papers were published in the Journals as: 《Aerospace Science and Technology》,《Journal of the American Helicopter Society》,《AIAA Journal of Aircraft》,《The Aeronautical Journal》,《Composite Structures》,《Journal of Aerospace Engineering》,《Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites》,《Canadian Aeronautics and Space Journal》,《Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology: An International Journal》, 《Modern Physics Letters B》).
